Store Layout Planner

Job Title: Store Layout Planner

Reporting to: Technical Design Manager 

Objective: Working with a global brand client to create store layouts, producing accurate schematics in SketchUp for retailer sign off and bills of materials to enable correct equipment call-off from the warehouses. 

Key Function: 

You will have full ownership of developing this service with one of our largest customers. You will work directly into our client’s design team and create store layout plans that are correct to suit both the store format size and shopper journey in-store. 

The plans will form the basis of a layout pack that will be used to support the installation of the individual stores. Site surveys, electrical locations and equipment specials will need to be taken into consideration. Accuracy and attention to detail are key. 

Your layouts will create a bill of material (BOM) to which each store will be picked from our warehouses globally. Everything needs to be considered in these to ensure a seamless and correct installation. 

Main Duties: 

• Own the store planning process for our business. 
• Taking client briefs directly from various markets and build layouts in SketchUp. 
• Producing relevant documents for client and retailer approval 
• Producing detailed BOM’s to enable the correct items to be picked and shipped to install. 
• Working with our internal and external teams to advise on plans. 
• Working with project managers to ensure everything is understood from a plan’s perspective. 
• Drive efficiency in this process over time, find ways to improve how we deliver this service. 
• Innovate – push innovation and additional services we can provide to our customer. 

Experience and Qualifications: 

• Education, minimum college level qualifications with ideally a design background. 
• 1-5 years’ experience of working in a layout planning type role. 
• Preferred experience in SketchUp or other CAD systems. 
• Foreign languages would be a benefit to the role but not essential. 
• Self-motivated – does not need constant supervision to stay productive. 
• Positive approach to problem solving / lateral thinking – can do attitude. 
• Outstanding attention to detail. 
• Good interpersonal skills – works well in a team environment. 
• Ability to work flexible hours if required.
