Job Title:           Junior Project Buyer

Department:      Supply

Reporting:         Senior Project Buyer

Key Function: 

Supporting the Project Buyers in your team, as well as managing your own projects within the Company’s cross-functional team structure.  Supported by the relevant Senior Project Buyer, you will learn to cover all of the operational issues of a project from design conception through to completion and delivery of component or display to the client.

Assist Project Buyers by working directly with our global supplier network, liaise closely with Sales, Design and where necessary the Customer, to ensure the smooth flow of work through the business and satisfactory completion of projects on time, within budget and to the company’s quality standards.

Main Duties:

Manage the progress of each of your projects with the Project Buyer’s support where required, providing accurate information, placing orders with suppliers and constructing estimates. Monitor production deadlines and compile delivery schedules.

Check and communicate drawing changes between design and factories

Manage the budgets on your projects after placing orders on Cost v Budget.

Interact directly with our overseas liaison offices, partners, suppliers and inter-company divisions by way of conventional communications media.

Chase missing artwork files

Manage product requirements from markets and report on goods received or outstanding 

Manage internal stock control, budgets and the picking of stock for projects

Support with packing and small order/prototype dispatches

Chase packing lists and invoices from factories

Embrace the use of IT & utilise the suite of reports as required for your role

Carry out negotiations with suppliers

Raise purchase orders ensuring relevant sign off in place & deal with invoice queries in a timely manner

Support the Supply Team where relevant in all tasks relating to projects, development and continuous improvement of the Supply Dept.

Promote best practice principals.

Advantaged Experience / Qualifications:

• Working towards CIPS qualifications plus 2 A-Levels or equivalent. BA (Hons) or HND in Business and Finance

• Knowledge of Export / Import

• Experience of dealing with domestic and over-seas suppliers

• An understanding of technical drawings

Experience in the Far Eastern supply market would be a distinct advantage.
